CloudOps Lead in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
Living in the beautiful Lower Mainland of British Columbia, I am husband to Christiane and father to Avery.
I am a CloudOps Lead with experience in platform development, containerization and orchestration, PaaS, automated infrastructure provisioning, service design and discovery and PKI.
I code predominantly in Golang and Bash, using vim as my editor. Git, GitHub and Docker are also part of my daily toolset.
My journey with cloud technologies started when I was serving as the team lead of Boeing Canada's Pacific Coast Platform team in a major Java development effort in launching Boeing's next generation Digital Aviation platform-as-a-service solution suite. My career aspiration then led me to take on a Cloud Engineer position with ActiveState's Stackato private PaaS, where I was involved in many Ruby development and the Cloud Foundry 6-week dojo program. After Stackato was acquired by HPE, I started working a lot with Kubernetes where I was involved with building the Helion Stackato container control plane project.
Experience with leading and contributing to remote teams, I always cherish the well-being of team members over rigid processes. I value integrity, ownership, accountability, open communication, diversity, equal opportunities, continuous improvements and the whole team mindset.
It is my personal belief that we have the responsibility and influence to make this world a better place. All people, regardless of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, age, involuntarily personal attributes such as disability, should be treated equally, without having to fear for punishment, persecution, oppression and ridicule.
